The diver course is one of a kind, useful both as training and to be able to offer contribution as a volunteer in groups such as Civil Protection Divers. It is, in fact, a complete and demanding course, which prepares the diver for one of the most difficult tasks: helping other people in difficulty. With this course it is possible to collect credentials and experience to be part of a Scuba Diving team or, where not present, to create one.
Underwater Archeology is a fascinating topic in the Mediterranean, which is a sea rich of history and culture, and finds many outcomes in potential activities on real fields and submerged archaeological sites. The ISDA course of Underwater Archeology was born from the long experience of the Superintendence of the Sea of Palermo, in collaboration with expert divers who, for decades, have worked in fields all over the world. The Superintendency of the sea in fact, in the person of the responsible Professor Sebastiano Tusa, has decided to sponsor ISDA activities in the archaeological field, acting on several fronts: working side by side in the restoration and creation of archaeological fields in Sicily, affixing its own brand to ISDA activities in the archaeological field and creating this course, whose textbook was written by the managers of the Superintendence of the Sea.
“Scuba diving is one of the few sporting disciplines, perhaps the only one, that allows a
person with motor disabilities to be able to move freely, like other
divers".
These words open the ISDA Parasub Instructors Manual, written
by the Instructor Trainer Mirco Fava. The course prepares ISDA Instructors to teach
diving to blind people or people with motor disabilities, opening, in fact, the world of
diving to many new enthusiasts.
Even people with moderate cognitive disabilities can enjoy the sea, its own beauty and the well-being it instills. In particular, the snorkeling activities for down children are often considered not just a fun experience, but a real therapy. Professionals can access the ISDA Snorkeling Instructor course for down divers - from Divemaster level upwards - but also lifeguards and instructors of swimming.
Learning to recognize the marine species, plants and animals, which we encounter while diving means, first of all, living more intense underwater experiences and collecting neater memories, but it also means being a more responsible diver, who observes, appreciates and respects what he encounters. This course, accessible with an Open Water Diver certification, is based on the study of the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean Sea, with references to geological context and evolutionary trends, starting from the current phenomenon of tropicalization. The manual, written by Doctor Manuela Falautano, marine biologist, is accompanied by 80 identification cards.
If the Deep Diver certification is not enough for you but you want to try the more challenging diving experiences, Deco Diver courses introduce you to diving deeper, with decompression. They are transition courses aimed at those who want to go beyond the depth of -40mt or prepare for Tek courses where you can extend your time and depth limits. The courses enable you to dive up to a maximum of -47m with decompression up to 15 minutes and using nitrox mixes up to 40%. All this, still using recreational equipment, with some minor improvements.
The responsible diver not only continually seeks to improve the set-up, reduce air consumption, know how the equipment works, but will want to be more and more ready to prevent and address any problems that can arise before, during or after the dive to him/her or to other divers. The Rescue Diver course improves the diver's skills and provides the knowledge and tools to recognize and solve problems both on the surface and underwater. You will learn to assess if your partner is in no condition to dive or to help him if he comes seized by an illness or is in an emergency situation. The Rescue Diver is a prepared and reliable diving companion, who doesn't only give safety but makes diving more enjoyable. The Italian Red Cross, with protocol CRI / CC / 0036126/2010, has sanctioned that the Rescue Diver ISDA course is equivalent to the C.R.I. The Rescue Diver certification completes sports and recreational diving preparation and opens the door to the diving profession patents, allowing access to courses of Divemaster and Instructor.
